A Day In The Life | Hamden, CT
While I was visiting my family in Connecticut over the holidays, I had the immense pleasure of photographing a Day In The Life session for one of my favorite photographers ever, the totally awesome Chelsea Silbereis. We "met" via Instagram a while back and then got together in person last summer. I am continually awed by the images she makes so when she asked me to photograph her family, I was really flattered and beyond excited. To photograph someone who appreciates documentary family photography as much as I do is a really special experience.
My day with Chelsea's family was relaxed and fun (and included mimosas with breakfast, yay!). They cooked, read, played, danced, and laughed together throughout the day. Watching Chelsea and John parent their little ones was so cool. They're both really gentle, patient, calm, and FUN: the kind of parent I aspire to be. Their home is one of those places that just has a really good, comfortable, happy feeling about it. Magnolia is an extraordinary little girl with a very special soul and mind. Rocky is a silly boob monster with the best smile. I fell in love with their dog, Marshmallow, and learned that their cat likes butter. Scroll down to follow them through matching PJs, piano lessons, amazing homemade pizza and lunch beers, and a frolic in the cemetery.
I'm a strong believer in the idea that our ordinary days and moments are really the most precious ones-- and the ones most worth documenting. If you're interested in having a day in YOUR life documented, let's chat!
