Hi, I'm Anna-Liisa.
I love finding beauty in the ordinary, humor in the chaos, and love in the heartache.
My Background: Raised in Moscow, Tokyo, and then Westport. CT, I grew up surrounded by the art and expression of a diverse menagerie of foreign cultures. Upon leaving home, I attended New York University to study philosophy and was further exposed to a thriving art scene. I eventually earned a law degree and spent the better part of a decade litigating death penalty cases on behalf of the condemned in South Carolina and Florida. In 2012, I shifted gears to stay home with my three children, Ulysses (8), Delphine (6), and Tallulah (2) and start my photography business. I am excited about moving back to my hometown of Westport, CT in the summer of 2018.
My Photography: Documentary photography has my heart. I've always been an avid people-watcher and I'm fascinated by the seemingly mundane details of people's everyday lives. I love finding beauty in the ordinary, humor in the chaos, and love in the heartache. Real moments, emotions, and connections are what I strive to capture with my camera. I absolutely love spending time with the families I photograph and making images that show their unique love and personalities.
